Honda CB750 Cafe Racer — What Did I Buy for $1,000?
I paid $1,000 for a 1979 Honda CB750 cafe racer project that doesn't run, isn't finished and as before this is one where someone else gave up halfway through.
But once we start digging through the parts, things get interesting. Cognito Moto, Speedhut, Sun Rim Wheels and a collection of other quality components could be worth around $7,500 on their own — so how did the whole project end up costing just $1,000?
In the first episode, we bring the Honda CB750 home, take inventory of everything that came with it, work out what the parts might actually be worth and start figuring out what we've bought. There are missing parts, some difficult decisions about what to keep or sell, a possible MotoGadget direction, and the rather important question of where to actually start with an unfinished, non-running motorcycle.
Oh… and we need to pick a color.
Could this be another bargain project, or have I just bought someone else's unfinished nightmare? Let's find out.
