Building the Stratos was only half the adventure.

After years of fabrication, assembly, fettling and finishing, the Lister Bell Stratos is finally built — which means it's time to find out what it's actually like to live with one.

This series follows the car beyond the workshop and onto the road. There are mountain roads and weekend drives, Cars & Coffee meets, classic car shows, track days and rally events, along with the inevitable maintenance, upgrades and modifications that come with owning something this unusual.

It's also about the realities of ownership. How reliable is it? What does it cost to run? What needs fixing or improving? How does it behave on a long-distance trip? And, perhaps most importantly, is building a Stratos replica actually worth all the effort?

The Lister Bell Stratos is powered by the legendary Alfa Romeo Busso V6 and combines the unmistakable shape of a rally icon with the realities of a modern home-built car. This series is about putting all that work to the test — not in the garage, but where the car belongs.
